Paramount Skydance Plans to Cut Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – Report

Skydance Paramount plans to initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 US jobs within a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

These job cuts are a result of the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August valued at $8.4bn.

Further global layoffs are expected, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce complete information during its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Prior news had indicated that Paramount was looking to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

As of December 2024, Paramount had about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond on the matter.
